Homemade Shaving Cream

HOME MADE SHAVING CREAM

I can remember the first time I shaved my legs ... I sudsy-ed up a bar of soap bubblied up my legs & shaved, tried shaving my skin a few times too (LOL). As I got older I began using shaving cream in a can, ya know the the silky foamy kind. Well I traded in the nicks& cuts for a nice razor burn looking reaction because I was allergic :/. SO I settled for using the foamy body wash or conditioner. It always left my legs DRY & Scaly ! Though I didnt mind so much because I have been doing it for many years .(Jeez that made me sound old) Now my daughter has begun shaving her legs and just like her mommy she's allergic and the soap trick leaves nicks & cuts ...YUK! So I was on a mission to find a shaving cream we weren't allergic to. I had a friend tell me (a new DIY'er) how she has began to make all these things at home and its saving her a ton of money. Shaving cream just happens to be one of those items :). So I thought what the heck ? We have tried everything else. So I internet searched homemade shaving cream, believe it or not there are a million and one ways to make shaving cream hahaha. SO I whipped up a few batches & tried them out ! I liked the original ok... but then I had to tweek it just a little to suit my likeing :}.
So, if you have some “work” to do on your legs before they see the summer sun…give these easy shave creams a try! And don’t be afraid to try different ingredients, etc. This is one of those very “forgiving” concoctions. Just be sure and share the leg love with someone  :]

But now that I know how much I LOVE it…I will definitely make a whole batch next time. You can alter the ingredients to make it the texture & thickness to your likeing.
After attacking my legs with a razor tonight, my legs feel so soft and smooth and happy! Hope you all like it as much as I do !!! Now shave it up & go smoothly into the world :]

Diaper Wreath

Diaper Wreath
I'm sure by now you have heard of a diaper cake ...But what about a diaper wreath?!?! Well this is a diaper wreath & one of the cutest stinking things I have ever made! I of course made my sister the normal diaper cake for her baby shower center piece, but now it was time for Baby Zarek (isn't that the cutest name?) to join us here in the world. I was so excited to meet my new nephew :]. We have always bought a door hanger for everyone in our family to announce the baby's entrance on the hospital door, which also makes a great nursery decor. They are so plain and drabby they are a stuffed animal with pretty much a homecoming mum bottom. Well after making her sister-n-laws diaper cake, guess who had extra diapers to play with?!? Thumbs out pointing to myself YUP this girl right here! I had seen the wreath on pinterest before so I of course tweaked it to where I liked it and WHALA, an absolutely adorable diaper wreath! This is the one I made for my sister to hang on her hospital door; it was a complete SMASH HIT! She had the cutest door in the whole joint. All the nurses & staff kept asking where did you get the door hanger?? Her reply with a big smile, "My Sister made it for me" :) Made me so proud!! So I hope you get as much joy out of yours as we did ours!

Foot Prints To Your Heart Craft

Foot Prints To Your Heart
We Made this as a Father's Day gift, but you can make it for any holiday or just a pretty piece of artwork  I also made myself one with all three kids feet :)
~Supplies needed ~
Stamp Pad or Kid's Paint
Poster Board or scrapbook paper
Frame
Any other embellishment you would like to add
(I used a Happy Father's Day stamp)

~ Steps~
1. Take a child and/or a napping baby, stamping the foot with a stamp pad ( or paintbrush with paint). Make sure to get every part of the foot.
If you have a child under 1 like I do my BEST suggestion is sleeping though it may take a time or two LOL... I would get him asleep get one print try to hurry and do the second one with a kicking foot hahahahah needless to say we did it a few times and got ink everywhere before I got it :)
2. Take the poster board or scrapbook paper with something hard behind it to press down, if its an older child you can place it on the floor.
3. When pressing the feet on start with the left foot slightly angled with toes outward then do the right foot over lapping at the heel the same angle. You may have to do these two steps till you get it the way you want it.
4. On my personal art I put there name and 2012 small along the side.
5. You can decorate the frame anyway you like :). On the one of mine I put a bible verse Mark 10:49.
You can also lightly draw a heart around, poke some little holes and put some stitching.
6. Cut the new footprint picture to fit the frame & Frame it in :).
